Who We Are

UGSOA Local 880 is the exclusive bargaining representative for specific security staff (Detention Officers, Kitchen Staff, Laundry Staff, Library Technicians, and Recreation Specialists) at the Adelanto GEO Group facilities. We are committed to professionalism, safety, and integrity within our facilities. We are a member-driven labor union dedicated to protecting the rights, working conditions, and well-being of the men and women who serve on the front lines of detention operations.

Our union exists to ensure that all union members have a strong, unified voice in the workplace. Through collective action, advocacy, and responsible leadership, Local 880 works to promote fairness, accountability, and respect while upholding the highest standards of public service.

We stand together to support our members, strengthen our profession, and advocate for policies and practices that create safer facilities for staff and the communities we serve.

Our Goals

  • Protect Member Rights through fair representation, due process, and enforcement of the collective bargaining agreement

  • Promote Workplace Safety by advocating for proper staffing, training, and safe working conditions

  • Strengthen Professional Standards through education, accountability, and leadership development

  • Advance Fair Compensation and Benefits that reflect the responsibilities and risks of detention work

  • Encourage Unity and Member Engagement by fostering solidarity, transparency, and open communication

  • Advocate for all union members at all levels to ensure our voices are heard and respected
